a lot of people gathered, or rather was accidentally at school that day since most of the students don't have classes on a wednesday(well, i don't:P), at Central in LaSalle. i don't know what this was all about but it had a fiesta or salu-salo feel to it with people lining up to get a cone of dirty ice cream or what we call sorbetes. I GOT ONE MYSELF.YUMMY. it quenched my thirst a little bit.
people ate on banana leaves while using their hands. that's the traditional way how Filipinos really eat. mas masarap ang food kapag kinakamay. well, clean hands that is.:) they served bananas, fish, tomatoes and what i think is the most important of all, RICE.
see that container in the picture? IT WAS FULL OF RICE. i'm so not kidding. WHAT IS GLUTTONY? once there were no more rice for the people to pig out on, they'll scoop rice from there and put it on the banana leaves.
a pretty long line just to get ice cream. they even served "kakanin". it's Filipino delicacies like bico and all that stuff which i love to eat! too bad i didn't get some.
can't help to take a picture of myself:P a cellphone's camera is really useful if you're desperate to capture a moment. GOOD THING THERE'S TECHNOLOGY. what would have happened to us if there's no Apple or Nokia or whatever brand there is.
there was also a "pabitin" i don't know what's it's called in English. it's like a pinata but it's not being smashed and you have to jump really high to get the prizes.
i love these kinds of events at school. there's always free stuff!or more like food. last time they were offering free cotton candy! went to the National Museum with some of my friends. we saw the famous painting by Juan Luna called Spoliarium. i thought it was just a small painting BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY HUGE.
i don't really know what are the first few paintings and sculptures are for. didn't have the patience to read all the descriptions written beside them. all i know is they are sculptures and paintings of the old times. like how native Filipinos were or something. FORGIVE ME. i don't find art that interesting.
bet ko ung floor tiles. sana ganyan ang floor tiles sa room ko :P LANDI. anyway i liked this part of the museum because of the floor pattern. NOW THAT IS ART FOR ME:)
this is the painting of the Assassination of Governor Bustamante and His Son. it's a painting by Felix Hidalgo and Juan Luna. it depicts the Spanish colonization in the Philippines as well. it showed how strong the Church was than the government in the past and maybe in the present.
these four pictures here are a series of painting. i don't remember what they were called. all i know is it shows the evolution of medicine from the first picture to the fourth one.
anyway i know this is far from the usual posts that i do. i just want to share to you guys what happened recently. hindi man exciting ang mga naging ganap, i still learned a few things:P
monster appetite<3
